Status Update Saturday 430PM CST


We appreciate everyone's understanding and patience for the circumstances for the weather today.  As stated previously, all games at all complexes and fields are canceled for today May 4.  The tournament is not canceled and our intention is to have games tomorrow.

We are actively working on revised schedules for tomorrow.  It is our intention and hope to have the games played tomorrow.  In order to make schedules for tomorrow, we are working under the following parameters:

1) All games after 2PM today are being scored 0-0.

2) Any games in the 11AM - 2PM window will be handled this way;

     a) if the game did not start it will be 0-0.
     
     b) if the game started and was in the first half it will be 0-0; no matter the score of the game at the time of delay.
     
     c) if the game was at half or in the second half the score will be finalized when the game was called.  if we do not currently have a score we are entering it as
         0-0.  please contact me to inform us of the score and we will update accordingly.



It is our goal to have the schedules for tomorrow updated later this evening so please continue to monitor the website schedule and your SINC generated messages.  We have no power or control over refund decisions until the event has finalized and those conversations will take place early next week.  Lastly, please respect our first priority is to have the kids play games tomorrow as that was the #1 goal of the weekend.  We are hopeful for no more substantial rain this evening and believe are fields can be played on tomorrow.  See everyone on the fields!





Status Update Saturday 2PM CST

We have tried to fight off the lightning and rain most of the day but at this point it’s best to SHUT DOWN ALL PARKS for the remainder of the day.  We are losing different parks and fields due to continuous lightning / heavy rain / unplayable fields, and we do not want to force people to sit around waiting any longer.  There’s also more potential for weather over the next couple of hours so we think it best to allow everyone to move on with their day.  We realize some teams have currently been unable to play a game in the event, but we are hopeful to try to complete more games tomorrow.  We do not want to keep asking people to hop on and off the fields for the rest of the day with the uncertainty of the weather.  Our plan is to assess the weather conditions over the next several hours, we will walk the fields at our multiple locations and discuss possibilities for tomorrow with all park officials.  Player safety has been the main talking about amongst our staff as we’ve moved into this afternoon and reached this decision.

We hope you understand we have done our best to allow the teams to participate today and are committed to trying to play tomorrow.  Even if we give each team one game tomorrow, we think that solution is best.  We recognize some teams have traveled from a long way and we want you to be able to leave with a positive experience from TNI.  We plan to score all unplayed games today as 0-0 to allow the SINC system to populate more games for Sunday.  Again, we realize playing all games to completion is the idea in a tournament but right now we simply want to protect everyone from the weather while still looking at potential games tomorrow.

We have been asked about refunds and that is certainly on our radar.  We will continue to focus on the tournament first and then provide more updates about that situation next week.  Things of that nature require multiple external conversations which cannot be had until next week anyway.  Please have a great evening, for those attending the MLS game have a great time, and continue to watch emails for updates later tonight.  Thanks!

The Tennessee Invitational (TNI) is an event for all teams from Premier to Select levels and wants to welcome you to the Middle Tennessee area. We primarily host teams from the Southeast and surrounding Midwestern states but welcome all teams to come and compete. Our event hosts over 350 teams each spring and would love to have your team join us in 2024. All State Champions and State Finalists will be automatically accepted. Register today and reserve your spot as divisions will fill up quickly.
